The La Salle Explorers, ranked #4 in Digital Sports Lacrosse rankings and having an outstanding record of 20-2, were more than excited to hit the field on Wednesday (5/29) for the PIAA tournament opener against Radnor. The boys were revved and ready especially hopeful being that they defeated Radnor in their last match on May 9th. Although the Explorers did not crush the Red Raiders as much as their last meeting, they still came out on top with a 6-4 win.

La Salle started the game out strong and kept it up through the entire game, specifically in their offense. The Explorers out shot Radnor 24-7. Their leading goal scorer, Matt Rambo, as well as his teammate, Stephen Hudak, started the team off with two goals. Radnor shot back ending the first quarter 2-1. The Red Raiders were unlucky the second quarter, while long pole George Uhrich made it a 3-1 lead into the half. After just two minutes in the start of the second half, La Salle’s Sean Coleman placed one in the net, while Radnor exchanged a goal. Brian McNamara finished off the third quarter with a goal for the Explorers. Before the game could end, Radnor finally picked up their slack to put in two goals in the fourth, but was just not enough, Rambo capped off the game with one more goal to take the triumph.

The La Salle team looks forward to their next competition on Saturday (6/1) for the quarterfinal round against Garnet Valley.
